From I-Tunes To Spotify

First and Foremost for all who do not know, Spotify is a music player you can download from www.Spotify.com which allows you to listen to live music (albums and mixtapes) online for free. These are not 1 minute samples these are WHOLE songs. Yes and whole albums..... For FREE.

The reason the model is free is because they clearly charge for advertising space on their page and they have adverts between songs every so often, which is less frequent than the radio and at least you are not interupted by conversations that you are not interested in....like on the radio.

I realised recently that that Spotify looked very similar to I-tunes. I think Spotify is a great idea but I am surprised it did not come out sooner as the technology has been available for some time now.

Looks similar to the layout of I-Tunes doesn't it?

It is still not perfect yet...but...

An example of how useful Spotify is in promoting music, is the Black Eyed Peas album. I intended to listen to one track of their album but thought why not listen to rest of their album which turned out to be really lively. As a result i purchased the album.

However it is still early days and Spotify was clearly born in the U.S as it does not contain a wide range of UK artists e.g. from the Funky House scene or Grime scene. This may be due to rights. If so I feel Uk music should allow Spotify to promote them as it is a really good promotion tool.

To end on a good note I do love the fact that it does not take long to load music of buffer it streams as if the music is saved to your I-Tunes and the awesome thing is you do not need to download the music. As 1 in 4 households (in the UK) have internet access it is a great alternative to listen to music, save playlists (albums) share it with others without saving anything or taking up your computers memory.

For me it gets a fab 8/10, Let me know how you find it!
